Our Story

Learn about us at Thomas' auto and boat repair shop in Wells, VT. Image of mechanic hand performing work on a car engine.

A Legacy of Automotive Excellence

Keith Thomas comes from a long line of automotive enthusiasts. His father, also named Keith, has been a shop owner or partner in a repair shop since he was 18. In 1996, the Thomas family relocated to Wells, Vermont, and shortly after, the perfect building for their new venture came up for sale. Keith’s father started working by himself in 1997, and over the last 26 years, the shop has grown into a bustling establishment with a dedicated crew of seven. While Keith’s father remains the owner, Keith (the son) handles much of the day-to-day operations in both the shop and the office.

Family Values and Community Roots

Keith and his brother Joe both grew up working in the family shop. They each pursued formal automotive education—Keith attended UTI, while Joe went to Hudson Valley Community College. Today, Joe handles all the marine service and repairs, while Keith is most often found in the office, assisting clients. Their father remains actively involved in day-to-day operations, although he’s looking forward to a well-deserved retirement.
