Signs Your Vehicle Needs Auto Air Conditioning Repair

Recognizing the signs that your auto air conditioning system needs repair can save you from discomfort and further damage. Common indicators include:
  • A/C Blowing Warm Air
If your A/C is not cooling as it should and is blowing warm air, it may indicate a refrigerant leak or compressor issue.
  • A/C Blowing Out Hot Air
This could be a sign of a more serious problem, such as a faulty compressor or electrical issues within the A/C system.
  • Strange Noises
Unusual sounds when the A/C is running could indicate problems with the compressor or other components.
  • Weak Airflow
If the airflow from your vents is weak, it could be due to a clogged air filter, a blower motor issue, or ductwork problems.
If you notice any of these signs, it’s time to visit Thomas’ Auto Repair for a professional inspection and repair.

R-134a vs. R-1234yf Refrigerants: What You Need to Know

Modern vehicles often use the newer R-1234yf refrigerant, which is more environmentally friendly than the older R-134a refrigerant. Here’s a quick comparison:

  • R-134a Refrigerant
Commonly used in older vehicles, R-134a is effective but has a higher global warming potential.
  • R-1234yf Refrigerant
Used in newer vehicles, R-1234yf is designed to reduce environmental impact with a lower global warming potential.

At Thomas’ Auto Repair, we are equipped to service both types of refrigerants, ensuring your vehicle’s A/C system is compliant with the latest standards and operates efficiently.
